This Privacy Policy explains how the STRYNER Companion mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. The App works together with STRYNER, a fitness challenge mini app on Telegram. By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

The App is designed around data minimisation. We access and process only what is needed to count your steps for STRYNER challenges:
The App does not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or any health data other than steps.
We never use health or fitness data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it to third parties.
The App uses Android Health Connect to read step data. Your use of Health Connect is also governed by Google's terms and privacy policy. You can review or revoke the App's access at any time in the Health Connect settings on your device. Revoking access will stop the App from reading new step data.
Your account identifier and sync token are stored locally on your device. Verified step totals are transmitted over an encrypted connection to STRYNER's backend. STRYNER relies on third-party infrastructure providers: your account data and step records are stored in a database hosted in the European Union (Ireland) by Supabase, while our backend application servers are hosted in the United States (Oregon) by Render. This means your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. For any transfer outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the data processing agreements and Standard Contractual Clauses provided by these vendors to safeguard your data. We retain step records only for as long as needed to operate the STRYNER service.
We do not share your data with third parties except service providers that host the STRYNER backend strictly to provide the service, and where required by law. We do not share health data with advertisers.
You can request deletion of your STRYNER account and all associated data at any time. To do so, email us at stryde_app@proton.me from the address associated with your account, or use our account deletion page at https://strydeton.app/delete.html.
When you request deletion, we permanently delete your STRYNER account identifier, your sync token, and your verified step records. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. We process deletion requests within 30 days. We do not retain personal data after deletion, except where we are required to keep limited records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, in which case such data is kept only for as long as legally required.
We use reasonable technical measures, including encrypted transmission and token-based authorisation, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
